| Thanks to WinMaster,
you can easily modify the startup, end and stop pictures of Windows. WinMaster
: System Picture
- Startup, End and Stop Pictures :
Use this tab to switch between startup, end and
stop pictures. Excepting part concerning the scroll bar, all options are commons to the 3 pictures. . - Load
:
Load an image from a disk file. (see Pictures formats). . - Reset
:
Re-load current used picture. . - Delete :
Erase current picture. . - Apply
:
Apply modifications made to the current picture. . - Edit :
Edit the
current picture under Chaos Fx™. . - View
:
Display the current picture in a secondary independent window. (see Pictures Viewer) . - Print
:
Print the current picture using current printer settings.
WARNING :
this option directly prints the picture on your printer without displaying a preview before.
- Size
:
System pictures should have a specific size of 320x400 pixels. So WinMaster proposes different options to resize them. .- Normal
:
Picture is kept in its current size and only a part corresponding to 320x400 remains. If the image is smaller than this size, it is centered and
WinMaster uses the "Background Color" (see below) to fill the rest of the final picture. . - Stretch
:
Stretch the picture so that it is exactly 320x400. In this mode, proportions aren't kept so the resulting picture can be deformed. . - Best
fit :
Resize the picture so that it fits as well as possible 320x400 keeping originals proportions. Excepting if picture is exactly proportional to
320x400, some "empty" areas will appear, in that case WinMaster™ fills them using the "Background Color" (see below). . - Mosaic
:
If the picture is smaller than the requested size, it will be repeated as a pattern to cover the entire screen. .
- Reduction
method :
Such as for dimensions, the system imposes that these pictures should be 8bits ones (meaning 256 colors). So WinMaster offers several options
for reducing the number of effective colors contained in pictures. .- Error
dithering :
Error diffusion dithering is a popular dithering method. The "error" in the title refers to the cumulative difference between the
actual values of pixels in the image and their "true" values if they were all set to their correct colors. By reducing this error, error diffusion
dithering produces image quality that is superior to that achieved by non-error adjusted dithering. . - No
dithering :
No dithering is apply, WinMaster™ replaces colors of the original picture by the closest one it can find in the new palette. . - Gray
scale :
Picture is converted in 256 gray scales. Meaning that all information about colors are removed and only luminosity is kept. .
- Background
:
Enable choosing a color to fill "empty" areas. These zones can result from the use of "Best Fit" or "Normal" sizing
options. . - Enable scroll bar (startup picture only)
Enable or disable
displaying a scroll bar on the startup picture. A scroll bar consists in a gradient from two colors which is cycled during the loading of the operating system
(as you can see at the bottom of the Windows default startup picture). .- Orientation
:
This combo lets you choose the direction of the scroll bar. (from left to right, from top to bottom, etc...). . - Gradient
size :
Specify the size (number of colors) to use for this gradient bar. . Note : colors used to display the
gradient bar cannot be used somewhere else on the picture. For example specifying a 32 colors gradient means that "only" 224 will remained for the
rest of the picture. . - First Color :
Specify the first gradient color. . - Second
Color :
Specify the second gradient color. Gradient is computed between First Color to Second Color in Gradient Size steps. . - Left,
Top, Right, Bottom :
Coordinates of the scroll bar.
WARNING
: these coordinates should be in a range of 0 to 320 for Left and Right, and from 0 to 400 for top and bottom, as the resulting picture will always be
320x400.
